Uchan is a village in the Ardabil region of northwestern Iran. Uchan carpets are woven in wool on wool with geometric patterns carried in memory. The construction is honest and each piece carries genuine individual character.
The light grey and blue ground with tan border at 4 ft 2 in x 5 ft 4 in is calm and cool. This softer palette is less common in the Uchan tradition and gives the piece a quieter, more restrained quality. The geometric pattern adds structure without strong colour direction.
In your home: Works as a bedside rug, small sitting room carpet or study accent. The soft blue and tan combination suits contemporary, Japandi and transitional interiors.
