The Ardibil design takes its name from the great Ardabil carpet of the 16th century, now in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. It is one of the most historically significant compositions in carpet weaving, and weavers across South Asia have reproduced it for generations. This Pakistani piece is woven in wool pile with silk highlights on cotton at 256 knots per square inch.
