Pakistani Gabbeh carpets draw on the same tradition as their Afghan and Iranian counterparts but are produced in the workshops of northern Pakistan. The weaving is handknotted using wool pile on a cotton base, coloured with natural vegetable dyes, and the aesthetic remains true to the Gabbeh character: thick pile, simple geometry, warm colour palette. The production quality from Pakistani workshops tends to be consistent and the knot count precise.
This large piece at 5' x 8' has a multicolour palette with warm, earthy tones. The size is one of the most practical in the range, large enough to anchor a full sitting room seating group or sit comfortably under a six to eight seat dining table. The natural dyes and hand spun wool construction mean the carpet will age well.
