Yalameh carpets come from the tribal weaving regions of southern Iran. The tradition is less widely known than the Kashgai or Shiraz traditions from the same area, which is part of what makes these pieces interesting to collectors. The geometric pattern vocabulary is bold and confident, and the wool on wool construction gives the carpet real durability.
