Kashan in Isfahan Province is one of the great carpet weaving centres of Iran. The city produced some of the finest Safavid court carpets ever made and the formal medallion design that defines the Kashan tradition has been in continuous production for four centuries. This is a genuine Iranian Kashan woven in pure wool on cotton at 154 knots per square inch.
The reddish rose ground at 3 ft 3 in x 4 ft 6 in is warm and distinctive. The deep midnight blue border provides a strong contrast. At this small format the piece works well as a bedside rug, a room accent or layered over a larger plain floor to add colour and pattern.
In your home: Works as a bedside rug, accent piece or layering carpet. Pairs with navy, cream and warm neutral tones. Suits classic and transitional interiors.
