The Khal Mohammadi design is named after a tribal leader of the Ersari Turkmen people of northern Afghanistan. The pattern uses bold geometric forms from the broader Turkmen tribal design vocabulary and is woven in pure wool on wool at 121 knots per square inch, giving the design good definition for a tribal piece.
The brown ground at 5 ft x 6 ft 6 in is warm and earthy. Brown grounds in the Khal Mohammadi tradition are less common than the standard red and rust and give the piece a quieter, more grounded quality. The geometric pattern is bold and confident.
In your home: Works in sitting rooms, bedrooms and studies. The brown ground pairs with natural timber, leather and earthy toned interiors.
