Shiraz in Fars Province is the cultural home of the Qashqai tribal carpet tradition. Shiraz carpets are woven in wool on wool by nomadic weavers using geometric patterns carried through generations without being drawn on paper.
The red ground at 4 ft x 5 ft 2 in is warm and traditional. Red is the most common colour in the Shiraz tribal repertoire and this piece carries it with the confidence of a long weaving history. The geometric pattern is direct and bold, knotted at 64 knots per square inch.
In your home: Works as a bedside rug, accent piece or layering carpet. Pairs with natural timber, warm walls and earthy toned interiors.
