The Bokhara design takes its name from the ancient Silk Road city of Bukhara. The repeating gul motif has been central to Turkmen tribal carpet production for centuries. This Central Asian piece is woven in wool with silk highlights on a wool base at 196 knots per square inch. The silk highlights trace the gul forms with a subtle luminosity.
The camel and brown all-over ground at 3 ft 10 in x 5 ft 5 in is warm and unusual. The camel palette is a softer, more understated take on the standard red Bokhara. At this small format the piece works as a bedside rug or accent piece.
In your home: Works as a bedside rug, accent piece or small sitting room carpet. Pairs with natural timber and warm toned interiors.
