The Sarooq design takes its name from a village in Markazi Province in western Iran, but this piece is produced in Afghanistan. The Sarooq tradition is characterised by a curvilinear geometric pattern with botanical undertones, sitting between the fully tribal and the fully classical. Afghan weavers produce this design in pure wool on wool at 64 knots per square inch.
The light tan ground at 4 ft 3 in x 6 ft 8 in is warm and approachable. The all-tan palette is understated and sits comfortably in rooms with natural materials. Wool on wool construction gives excellent durability and a pleasant density underfoot.
In your home: Works in sitting rooms, bedrooms and studies. The tan ground pairs with natural timber, linen and earthy toned interiors.
