The Bokhara design takes its name from the ancient Silk Road city of Bukhara. The repeating gul motif has been central to Turkmen tribal carpet production for centuries. This Central Asian piece is woven in pure wool on wool at 121 knots per square inch, a fine knot count that gives the gul repeat excellent definition.
The red and rust ground with multicolour border at 4 ft 10 in x 6 ft 9 in is warm and traditional. The Bokhara gul pattern is direct and confident. Wool on wool at 121 knots per square inch gives excellent durability.
In your home: Works in sitting rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms. The red ground pairs with dark timber, cream walls and classic interiors.
