The Baluchi are a nomadic people spread across Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan. Their carpet weaving tradition uses bold geometric patterns and wool on wool construction to produce textiles with genuine tribal character. Patterns are carried in memory rather than drawn, and each piece is individual.
The brown and rust ground at 3 ft 10 in x 6 ft 11 in is warm and earthy. The combination of brown and rust is characteristic of the Baluchi colour palette, grounded and natural. Woven at 49 knots per square inch in wool on wool.
